As director of development, communications and government relations for a $7 million program, the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership Inc. (UEP), Lena T. Rodriguez, Ph.D., is responsible for implementing communications and marketing initiatives for the UEP, UEP Gulf Coast, and UEP Detroit 150 as well as advancing the programs among prospective clients, donors and community stakeholders.
She previously served as executive director of special projects and communications for the president at San Diego State University. Also a professor in the College of Business at San Diego State, Dr. Rodriguez taught business classes and M.B.A. entrepreneurship courses in San Diego and Taiwan, Taipei.
Dr. Rodriguez is the author of several articles on entrepreneurship and has written chapters for human resource management and public administration textbooks. An entrepreneur herself, she consults in the private and nonprofit sectors. She regularly speaks on topics of entrepreneurship and business management and marketing. She is active in several national professional organizations and serves on a variety of regional and international boards.
Dr. Rodriguez holds a bachelor’s degree in management and an M.P.A. in human resource management, both from Arizona State University, as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska, College of Business Administration in organizational behavior, entrepreneurship and international management.
