C. Alexander West, Ph.D.
C. Alexander West, Ph.D., led the development of the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership (UEP). He serves as a Senior Executive Coach for the UEP, as well as a consultant to the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. He is also president of his own consulting firm and a nationally recognized expert on small businesses, minority businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Dr. West has served as a consultant to many nonprofits, as well as federal, state and local governmental agencies, helping to design, develop and implement community and economic development strategies.
An entrepreneur for over 30 years, he has achieved success with start-ups, expansions, franchises and acquisitions, including developing and implementing the acquisition of 23 Blockbuster video stores and 13 Mrs. Winner’s Chicken franchises for parent companies.
Dr. West has launched acquisition and training programs for small, medium and high-growth minority firms. He has also helped develop a Franchise Resource Center and a Minority Contractor’s Assistance and Resource Center at Clark Atlanta University.
The author of five books, Dr. West earned his B.A. in accounting from Morehouse College, an M.B.A. in finance from Atlanta University, and a Ph.D. in entrepreneurship, specializing in acquisitions, from Union Institute & University.

Andre Hinton, M.B.A.
Andre Hinton is a Senior Executive Coach for the UEP, Inc. Mr. Hinton previously worked as an associate for Booz-Allen and Hamilton and held management positions with Pepsico Inc., the Timberland Company and Keystone Automotive Operations.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
